The Electrician Your Renovation Needs to Stay on Schedule

Renovation projects live or die by trades showing up when they're supposed to. We work regularly with homeowners, builders, and project managers on electrical fit-outs for kitchens, bathrooms, extensions, and outdoor areas across the Illawarra. You get a clear scope and price upfront, and we co-ordinate with the rest of your build so the job keeps moving.

Why Renovators Use LHN Electrical

How We Work on Renovation Projects

  1. Quote and scope

We review your plans or walk the site and provide an itemised quote. For larger renovations, we stage the quote by rough-in and fit-off so costs are clear at each phase.

  2. Rough-in

Before walls are closed, we install all conduit, cabling, and rough-in wiring for power, lighting, and data. This is coordinated with your builder's timeline.

  3. Fit-off

Once plastering and painting are complete, we return to install all switches, power points, light fittings, and any final connections. Everything is tested before sign-off.

  4. Handover

We provide a clean handover with everything working and any compliance certificates required for the work completed.

Renovation Electrical Questions

Do I need to upgrade my switchboard during a renovation?
Often yes — older switchboards with ceramic fuses can't safely support new circuits for modern kitchens or bathrooms. We'll assess your board as part of the quote and recommend an upgrade if it's needed. See our switchboard upgrades page for more detail.
Can you work directly with my builder?
Absolutely. We're used to working alongside builders and other trades on renovation projects. We can liaise directly with your builder to coordinate rough-in timing and keep the project on schedule.
What electrical work typically comes up in a kitchen renovation?
Typically: new dedicated circuits for oven, cooktop, and dishwasher; additional power points along the bench; under-cabinet lighting; rangehood wiring; and sometimes a switchboard upgrade to support the new load. We scope all of this upfront.

Renovation Electrical Across Wollongong and the Illawarra

We work on renovation projects across Wollongong, Dapto, Port Kembla, Woonona, and surrounding suburbs. From single-room bathroom renos to full house extensions, we've handled the electrical scope and kept the job on track. The Illawarra has a lot of older housing stock where renovations often uncover outdated wiring or undersized boards — we know what to look for and how to handle it without blowing the budget.
